it breaks my heart

It breaks my heart to see so many broken teens
So many with lost hopes and also torn dreams.
So many turn to suicide to end the pain
The guilt, the sadness and sometimes shame
Some turn to self injury to cover the pain deep inside
To cover the tears that hide deep in their eyes.
So many children and teens are being used as pleasure toys
to please someone else’s happiness and joy

It breaks my heart to see so many suffering all alone
Not knowing if they are safe in their own home
So many runaway to escape all the pain
But where ever they go it always remains the same.
Feeling trapped and isolated in this thing called life
They find release in the blade of the knife
So many silently cry in the middle of the night
Wishing to have the courage to keep going and fight.

It breaks my heart that so many think they have no worth
That they no longer belong here on this earth
So many don’t know they are wanted or loved
Or realize there is someone watching over them from above
