Saving Sex
I read this today and thought I'd share it....
"Saving sex for marriage is a way to respect your worth and value. Saving sex for marriage is also about respecting your partner and giving him the dignity deserved. Anyone who knows God in a personal way will strive to maintain purity both internally and externally. In other words, saving sex for its proper context will be one of her greatest values. As a result a true Christ follower who falls in the sexual arena in thought or deed will always feel some sense of shame or guilt. He will be convicted by the Spirit and motivated to change. A true Christ follower appreciates the sacred component of sexuality. A true Christ follower honors the mystery of sex and seeks to save this life-uniting act for the safe and appropriate haven of marriage. The counsel of Scripture regarding sex is a gracious attempt to save you from heartache and disillusionment. Let your desires and passions remind you of your need for emotional and spiritual intimacy. Rather than act on your impulses, channel your sexual energies into healthy endeavors and meaningful and supportive interaction with each other. Continue to build your foundation of closeness, safety, and trust so that you may experience God's best for your future." (Ben Young)
