Inside Your Heart
I wrote this for all my friends. Often we don't see ourselves the way others see us but if we could see ourselves through their eyes, then we'd see how truly beautiful we really are. I have been very blessed to meet so many wonderful, amazing friends on here whose light shines from within their heart, revealing all the beauty that is found inside. It's not someone damaged or broken that I see; it's someone inspiring, motivating, encouraging, and empowering that stands out. It's the hope, courage, strength, faith, determination, perseverance, love, compassion, and kindness that makes up just some of the many qualities I find in them. So I hope you know how truly beautiful you are to me and how much each of you has made a difference in my life and has touched my heart in many a way!


Inside Your Heart

I looked inside your heart today
What I found there rendered me speechless in a good way.
Nothing in particular was I searching for
To something so beautiful, though, my discovery opened the door.

Every emotion and feeling I saw that you were afraid to openly share
But they showed so much honesty, sincerity, and care.
Beyond them, hiding away, lay fears you never conveyed
Facing those fears on your own, you into a stronger person they made.

Scars appeared from events untold
Healing the wounds was the power every tear shed did hold.
No bitterness or hate in this place resided
Because by the pureness of your heart you were guided.

Regrets of the life once lived couldn't be found
For love and forgiveness left the chains of the past unbound.
Compassion and kindness continued to bloom and grow
A positive vibe paved a path to the dreams you decided to follow.

Burning within raged an intensity so fierce
That the light shining no darkness could pierce.
Here beating inside these walls was such determination
Revealing the courageous soul of a person who knew victory they would win.

This heart refused to be confined by any restraint
Pieces coming together negativity didn't have a chance to taint.
You took everything that happened and turned it into something positive
Nothing stopped you from living the life that for yourself you chose to live.

The spark of hope and faith is reflected in your eyes
Believing in what can be, the pages waiting to be rewritten you now revise.
You're making the most of every moment
As you treasure and cherish the things you've been given in the present.

Like a newly transformed butterfly, your heart developed wings to fly
After all you went through your fighting spirit refused to die.
Giving up just never was your style
You always found your inner strength during each trial.

Unexpected changes challenged you to work even harder to get where you are
With pride you can look back and say you've made it this far.
Every road taken has led you to this very place
It's with a self perspective of love and acceptance every part of yourself you embrace.

In a world of darkness you are a beacon of hope
Encouraging people to keep going when their back's against the rope.
Some parts of your heart may be fragile and delicate
But inside your heart I see the beautiful story of you where all the pieces fit.
